Rabat–The national coach, Belgian Eric Gerets, has called 23 players in preparation for the game of the Atlas Lions against Central African Republic, on 4 September in Bangui, for the fifth round of Group D qualifier for the African Cup of Nations (CAN-2012).

The list includes ten players playing in the national championship, five of whom are from Wydad Casablanca. This list is marked by the absence of  Marouane Chamakh, for a combination of two Yellow Cards and Adil Hermanch who is injured.

The list also contains the selection for WAC midfielder, Said Fettah who received the invitation to join the ranks of the Moroccan team for the first time.
The list of the 23 players is as follows:

Goalkeepers:

Nadir Lamyaghri (Wydad Casablanca).

Issam Badda (FUS Rabat).

Ahmed Mohammedina (Olympique Khouribga).

Defenders:

Rachid Soulaimane (Raja Casablanca).

Mustapha Mrani (Maghreb Fes).

Mehdi Benatia (Udinese / Italy).

Youssef Rabeh (Wydad Casablanca).

Michael Basser (AS Nancy / France).

Ayoub El Khaliq (Wydad Casablanca).

Abdelhamid El Kaoutar (Montpellier / France).

Badr El Kaddouri (Dinamo Kiev / Russia).

Midfielders:

Houcine Kharja (Fiorentina / Italy).

Chihani Mohamed (Al Arabi / Qatar).

Said Fettah (Wydad Casablanca).

Ismail Aissati (Ajax Amsterdam / Netherlands).

Mbarek Boussoufa (Anzi Makhachkala / Russia).

Younes Belhanda (Montpellier / France).

Did Osama Saidi (Heerenveen / Netherlands).

Mohamed Berrabeh (Wydad Casablanca).

Youssef Hadji (As Nancy-Lorraine/France).
