Rabat – Police arrested a 31-year-old man in Casablanca on Sunday evening after deliberately driving into a fast food restaurant, injuring four working and causing damage to the restaurant glass front.

The arrest took place in Ain Sebaa following a joint operation between the judicial police and the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance.

MAP quoted security sources as saying that the suspect has a criminal record and is wanted for his involvement in two drug trafficking cases.

The incident occurred after a dispute between the suspect — who was driving a rented car — and the workers at the restaurant. The disagreement began when the restaurant was reportedly blocking a designated area for customers who order food from their cars.

In a fit of anger, the suspect intentionally drove into the workers, injuring them, and damaging the restaurant’s glass front. After the attack, he abandoned the rented car and fled in another vehicle. Police were able to track him down and arrest him later that evening.

When arrested, the suspect was found in possession of 44 doses of “poufa,” a type of crack cocaine, as well as cannabis resin and cash believed to be from drug sales. Authorities have confirmed that the suspect is also under investigation for his involvement in illegal drug trade.

The man is currently in police custody, and investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of his actions and the motives behind the attack. The public prosecutor is overseeing the investigation to uncover all the details of the case.
