Rabat – The General Delegation for Prison Administration and Rehabilitation (DGAPR) revealed on Friday that 40.45% of inmates who took part in the 2024 regular baccalaureate session passed the exam.
According to a press release issued by DGAPR, out of 1,399 incarcerated candidates, 566 successfully passed the exams, reflecting a significant 52.15% increase compared to last year’s figures of 372 candidates out of 1,372.
This year, the success rate among prisoners exceeds the national rate for non-enrolled candidates, which is currently at 39.5%.
DGAPR specified that 118 prisoners received honors ranging from fairly good to very good, totaling 20.84% of successful candidates.
Additionally, 521 prisoners are scheduled to sit for the retake exam, which is set to be held from July 10 to July 13, with the results expected to be announced on July 19.
The Ministry of National Education disclosed on June 26 that 245,881 candidates from both public and private high schools have successfully passed this year’s regular session of the national baccalaureate exams.
This achievement represents an overall pass rate of 67.8%, marking an 8% increase from the previous year.
