Rabat – The unfolding humanitarian disaster in Gaza has reached a critical juncture, with children bearing the brunt of starvation as international organizations sound the alarm on Israel’s military tactics.

For weeks, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) have been issuing warnings about the deteriorating conditions in the war-torn Palestinian enclave.

Human Rights Watch has condemned the Israeli government’s use of starvation as a weapon of war, highlighting the tragic deaths of children due to malnutrition-related complications.

According to Human Rights Watch, children and vulnerable mothers in Gaza are suffering from severe malnutrition and dehydration, with hospitals ill-equipped to provide adequate care.

The situation has prompted calls for concerned governments to impose targeted sanctions and suspend arms transfers to pressure Israel into ensuring access to humanitarian aid and basic services.

A United Nations-coordinated partnership of international organizations and UN agencies investigating the hunger crisis in Gaza reported a significant acceleration of death and malnutrition.

The dire situation is particularly acute in northern Gaza, where 70 percent of the population faces catastrophic hunger, raising concerns of an imminent famine.

Tragically, the death toll continues to rise, with Gaza’s Health Ministry reporting more than 33,686 Palestinians killed. Within the last 24 hours alone, 52 people lost their lives, and 95 were injured, underscoring the urgency of the crisis.

Despite international humanitarian law prohibiting the starvation of civilians as a method of warfare, the plight of Gazans persists.

Access for emergency services remains hampered by Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) restrictions, leaving some victims buried beneath rubble or stranded on roads.
