Rabat – At the grand royal wedding in Brunei, celebrating the son of the world’s longest-reigning king, the Moroccan caftan emerged as the indisputable star.

Princess Munira bint Muhammad Al-Thunayan, the wife of Prince Mamdouh bin Abdul Rahman bin Saud bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, graced the event, elegantly clad in a green Moroccan caftan, luxuriously adorned with elaborate gold detailing.

Accompanied by her husband, Ahmed bin Hamad Al-Hamad, Princess Al-Hanouf bint Mamdouh Al Saud made an entrance, classically attired in a white caftan.

Amidst the grand gathering, conversations revolved around the captivating charm of these exquisite dresses. Even across social media, the excitement stirred by the princesses’ appearances echoed around the world.

Twitter users showered compliments on the outfits, describing the Moroccan caftan as the fanciest and most enchanting attire fit for such a glamorous occasion.

However, some voices from Saudi Arabia expressed otherwise suggesting that the caftan may not truly represent their culture. They believed that the princesses should have opted for a Saudi outfit instead.

Prince Abdul Mateen’s wedding spanned 10 days, drawing a crowd of five thousand attendees, among which were global leaders and prominent political figures, as well as representatives from the royal families of Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Bhutan.

Celebrated worldwide, the Moroccan caftan has historically graced the shoulders of renowned figures on various public occasions and celebrations, adorning a garment that has become a cross-cultural fashion phenomenon.

Mirroring the likes of Hilary Clinton, the caftan took center stage at the wedding celebrations of Sophie Lasry, the daughter of the accomplished Moroccan American businessman Marc Lasry, in New York. The US former secretary of state shared a picture of the outfit in August 2017.

Across social media, followers were stunned by the elegant look of Jada Pinkett Smith, who showcased her fascination with Moroccan fashion through a mesmerizing Instagram reel wearing a Moroccan caftan, posted on September 2021.

During a dinner at the royal palace in Rabat, hosted by Princess Lalla Meryem, Ivanka Trump graced the gathering, elegantly adorned in a Moroccan caftan.

Stepping onto the global stage at the 2019 Globe Soccer Awards, Georgina Rodriguez, the partner of football icon Cristiano Ronaldo, donned a Moroccan caftan.

Globally, the Moroccan caftan stands out as a timeless masterpiece, with a glittering showcase of cultural richness and unmatched style.
