The General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) has issued an orange-level weather alert, warning of locally heavy thunderstorms accompanied by strong wind gusts in parts of Morocco this Thursday.

According to the DGM, rainfall of 20 to 30 millimeters is expected between 2 p.m. and 9 p.m. in the provinces of Al Haouz, Ifrane, Beni Mellal, Azilal, Chichaoua, and Khenifra.

The bulletin underlined that these weather conditions could cause temporary disruptions and urged residents in the affected areas to exercise caution.

Morocco’s weather has been unsettled in recent days, shifting from hot conditions to repeated thunderstorm alerts.

The DGM had already issued a similar orange-level warning on Wednesday.
