Rabat – Attijariwafa Bank has issued a warning to the public regarding a fraudulent video circulating online and across social media platforms that falsely uses the image, voice, and name of its Chairman and CEO.
In an official statement released today, the bank said the video imitates the format of a national media report and redirects users to a deceptive website posing as an investment platform allegedly linked to the bank.
The fraudulent content makes false promises of high financial returns, the statement noted.
The bank denounced the unauthorized use of its CEO’s image and corporate identity, stressing that such acts constitute an attack on its reputation.
The creators of the video, it explained, are “clearly seeking to deceive the public” by employing manipulated visuals generated through AI.
Attijariwafa Bank firmly denied any connection to the operation, reiterating that it does not operate or endorse any investment platform or related initiative.
It also stated that it reserves the right to take all necessary legal action to protect its image, the reputation of its CEO, and its institutional rights.
Amid a surge in similar online scams, the bank urged the public to remain vigilant and to verify the authenticity of any online offers purportedly associated with financial institutions.
