Rabat – Moroccan football is in mourning as players, coaches, and fans come to terms with the tragic loss of Wydad AC defender Oussama Falouh.

Falouh passed away on Thursday evening after being involved in a serious road accident last month.

The Casablanca-based club announced the news last night in a statement, extending their deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of the young footballer.

At just 24 years old, the player had been in a coma in the intensive care unit of a Casablanca hospital since the accident, which occurred on October 11.

After learning the tragic news, the Moroccan football community turned to social media to grieve Falouh’s passing and convey their sympathies to his family.

Several Wydad players, including Yahya Jabrane, Bouly Sambou, Yahia Attiyat Allah, and Youssef El Motie expressed their deep sorrow at the untimely death of their teammate.

Falouh’s football journey was marked by promise and ambition. A product of the Mohammed VI Football Academy, he had donned the jerseys of several prominent clubs, including Strasbourg FC, Angers SCO, and FUS Rabat.

France’s Angers SCO released a statement today expressing their condolences to the family and relatives of the later player.

“Angers SCO has learned with profound sadness the passing of Oussama Falouh. A victim of a tragic car accident three weeks ago, the former Angers player passed away this Thursday at the age of 24,” the French club said.

Meanwhile, Egyptian club Al Ahly said they were “deeply saddened” to learn about Falouh’s passing. “Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and everyone at Wydad Athletic Club,” the Egyptian club’s statement said.
