Rabat – Prince Moulay Hassan and Princess Lalla Khadija are present today at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat for Morocco’s round of 16 match against Tanzania in the Africa Cup of Nations 2025.

Their appearance drew national attention and added a ceremonial touch to the high-profile match.

This marks the second time Crown Prince Moulay Hassan has attended a match during the tournament.

He previously chaired the opening ceremony of AFCON 2025 and made headlines when he performed the ceremonial kickoff, symbolically launching the competition as Morocco faced Comoros in the curtain-raiser.

Moroccan royals attending the game show the country’s commitment to hosting AFCON 2025 and supporting the national team. Fans in the stadium reacted with excitement, taking photos and posting on social media.

Their presence also reflects the significance of AFCON 2025 for Morocco beyond football, as the event is seen as a showcase of the country’s organizational capacity, infrastructure, and ability to host major international competitions.

Morocco is chasing a second continental title, their first since 1976. The support of Prince Moulay Hassan and Princess Lalla Khadija shows unity and national pride as the Atlas Lions aim for a strong run on home soil in this important tournament.
