King Mohammed VI Chairs Religious Evening Commemorating 25th Anniversary of Passing of Late King Hassan II

Rabat – King Mohammed VI chaired a religious evening, commemorating the 25th anniversary of the passing of his father Hassan II.

The religious evening marked the presence of Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, Prince Moulay Rachid, and Prince Moulay Ahmed. The event took place at the Mohammed V Mausoleum in Rabat.

During the event, verses of the Quran were recited. During the event, The Monarch, along with the Crown    Prince Moulay Rachid, and Prince Moulay Ahmed, paid tribute and respect to the grave of the late king.

Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch, the speakers of the Houses of Parliament, and  other members of the government, attended the ceremony.

The late sovereign was King of Morocco from 1961 until his death in 1999.

The late King is remembered by many of his achievements, including the Green March.

Morocco will commemorate the anniversary of the Green March” on November 6. On October 16, 1975, King Hassan II delivered an inspirational speech broadcasted on TV and radio, calling on Moroccans to mobilize to claim their ancestral land.

“We have to do one thing, dear people, and that is to undertake a peaceful march from the north to the east, and from the west to the south. It behooves us to act as one man in order to join the Sahara,” he said in his speech.
