Rabat—The original FIFA World Cup trophy made a celebrated stop in Morocco on Wednesday as part of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola, ahead of the tournament this summer.

Organized by FIFA in partnership with long-time sponsor Coca-Cola, the tour brings the original World Cup trophy to cities and countries around the world, offering fans a rare chance to view the iconic trophy up close before the kickoff of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.

The Moroccan stop is part of a global tour that started on January 3 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and will include 30 FIFA member associations and 75 stops across more than 150 days.

The event took place at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Salé. It was the perfect spot since the complex is famous for its world-class training and is really the heart of football development, not just in Morocco but across all of Africa.

At the official presentation, Charbel El Beirouthy, General Manager of The Coca-Cola Company for Morocco and Mauritania, said the company was honored to host the trophy in Morocco and that the complex reflects long-term commitments to world-class football infrastructure in the region.

Football legends also attended the Moroccan stop. Former French world champion Marcel Desailly — now a FIFA ambassador — described the tour as a “symbolic journey that brings fans closer to the magic of the sport,” emphasizing how football unites people from different cultures and backgrounds.

Having the tour stop in Morocco really shows how much of a powerhouse the country has become in world football. It’s a nod to their incredible 2022 World Cup run, where the Atlas Lions made history as the first African and Arab team to ever reach the semifinals.
