Rabat – Zambia’s national women’s football team is taking on their Spanish counterparts in the second group stage match of the ongoing 2023 Women’s World Cup on July 26 at 8:30 p.m. Moroccan Time.
The game will be played in New Zealand’s Eden Park stadium, which has a seating capacity of 50,000 seats.
Fans who want to watch the game can do so on several channels that have the broadcast rights for the ongoing tournament, including FIFA+, the beIN Sports and beIN Connect networks, as well as Fox Sports.
In their first group stage matches, Zambia lost 5-0 to Japan, while Spain won 3-0 against Costa Rica.
This is the first time that Zambia is represented in the Women’s World Cup, while the tournament marks the third time that Spain’s women participate.
The farthest stage Spain has reached in the tournament is the round of 16 in 2019 when they lost 2-1 to the US.
Zambian coach Bruce Mwape said after the Japan match that they expected a win in their favor or at least a draw.
He also stated that the Japanese team made fewer mistakes in comparison to the Zambian team and had more confidence.
“It’s not the end of the world. We still have the chance to go back and plan for the remaining two games,” the coach added.
