The Haitian Football Federation has paid tribute to the national team following its elimination from the 2026 FIFA World Cup, insisting that “one final battle” still awaits the Grenadiers against Morocco.
In a statement published on the federation’s official Facebook page after Haiti’s defeat to Brazil, the federation acknowledged the disappointment felt by supporters but praised the players for their commitment and dedication.
“Football can bring joy, but it can also bring tears. Last night, the result did not go the way we had all hoped, and we understand the feelings of every fan who supported Haiti,” the statement read.
Despite the disappointment, the Haitian federation stressed that its respect for the players remains unchanged, applauding the efforts of the squad for representing the country with pride on the world stage.
“In moments like these, we choose to honor the effort and commitment of our Grenadiers, who continue to represent our flag with dignity. The road is not always easy, but our respect for these brave men who continue to fight for their country remains the same,” the federation added.
The statement also underlined that lessons must be learned from the tournament and that there is still work to be done.
“There are lessons to learn and work to be done, and one final battle awaits us against Morocco on Wednesday, June 24,” the federation said.
The Haitian federation concluded its message by thanking supporters for standing behind the team through both good and difficult times.
“Thank you to all the fans who continue to support the team, in good times and in the most difficult moments. We are all Grenadiers,” the statement concluded.
Already eliminated following defeats to Scotland and Brazil, Haiti will face Morocco in its final Group C match on June 24, looking to end its World Cup campaign on a positive note.
