Rabat – Scoring at the World Cup carries a different weight than finding the net in a domestic league or even a continental competition. Born on June 2, 1996, in Casablanca, Rahimi began his career with Raja Club Athletic, where he rose through the youth ranks before becoming one of the club’s standout players. He played a key role in Raja’s domestic and continental successes, notably helping the club win the CAF Confederation Cup and earning recognition as one of the top attackers in African football.
Rahimi’s long road
Soufiane Rahimi first joined the Atlas Lions in 2021, after impressing with his performances for Raja Casablanca. Although he was not always a regular starter, he continued to work hard and take every opportunity that came his way.
His commitment, energy, and goals in important matches won the trust of his coaches over the years. His first World Cup goal against Haiti was the latest reward for a player who never stopped fighting to prove himself for Morocco.
The same year, he joined Al Ain FC in the United Arab Emirates, where he continued to impress with his goals and performances.
At international level, Rahimi has represented the Morocco national football team and was a key figure for Morocco’s Olympic team, helping the Atlas Lions secure a bronze medal at the 2024 Summer Olympics while finishing as the tournament’s top scorer.
