Rabat- Morocco’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the establishment of an emergency cell to monitor the situation following the tragic stampede that took place in Seoul during a Halloween party on October 29.

The Moroccan ministry deployed the crisis cell, advertising phone numbers to answer Moroccans’ inquiries.

People seeking to contact the embassy can dial the following numbers: 05-37-67-63-50 / 05-37-67-63-53 / 0537676251.

People seeking to contact the cell from South Korea can dial the following numbers: +82-2-792-7097/ +82-10-3153-7097.

Moroccans can also use [email protected] to send their inquiries.

The Moroccan embassy in Seoul reassured Moroccan citizens that no Moroccan nationals were identified among the victims of the deadly stampede.

The tragic incident took place during a street celebration of Halloweeen in the Itaewon district.  The crowd surge left at least 153 people dead, with the death toll possibly increasing in the future.

The tragic stampede drew support and solidarity from world leaders, who expressed sadness and condolences to the families of the victims.

Joe Biden sent condolences to South Korea, grieving the people who have died.

“We grieve with the people of the Republic of Korea and wish for a quick recovery to all those who were injured,” Biden said in a tweet.

UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak described the news as “horrific,” expressing deep condolences and sympathy with the victims.

Canada, Japan, France, Singapore, and China have all expressed their condolences and support for people in South Korea.
