Rabat – The Israeli Foreign Affairs Ministry has sent a special team to Morocco to conduct an investigation into alleged misconduct, including sexual harassment, at the Israeli Liaison Office in Rabat.

In addition to sexual harassment, the list of allegations includes exploiting local women, not properly reporting gifts offered to Isreal, and mismanaged workplace conflicts, The Jerusalem Post reported earlier today.

Most of the allegations directly involve Israel’s Ambassador to Morocco, David Govrin, the report added.

The Israeli foreign ministry simply explained in a statement that the special team it sent to Rabat willet to investigate “allegations of irregularities,” without specifying the nature of these irregularities.

According to The Jerusalem Post, one of the incidents that the team is set to investigate involves a gift to Israel that is currently unaccounted for.

The gift in question was reportedly given to the embassy by Morocco’s Royal Family on the occasion of a national Israeli holiday. The embassy is said to have not adequately reported the gift to the Isreali foreign ministry.

In addition, the Israeli ambassador is reportedly in an ongoing dispute with his personal security officer.

The list of allegations also includes the involvement of an unnamed businessman in setting up meetings between Israeli politicians — Interior Minister Ayelet Shaked and Justice Minister Gideon Sa’ar.

The businessman is alleged to have taken part in official ministerial meetings without holding an official position in the Israeli cabinet, The Jerusalem Post detailed.
