Rabat – The Regional Investment Center (CRI) of Fez-Meknes invested MAD 379 million ($39 million) to create more than 3,000 new businesses in the Fez-Meknes region in 2021.
The CRI of Fez-Meknes – which is a financially independent public institution that supports investors in the Fez-Meknes region – held its sixth administrative council on Monday, March 28, to present and assess its activities and achievements for 2021.
According to a press release from the Fez-Meknes CRI, the new companies will create around 6,600 job opportunities in the region.
The businesses were created through the one-stop shop of the CRI of Fez-Meknes with an average of one business created every 5.2 days, stated the center.
The CRI Fes-Meknes has launched its new website in three languages: Arabic, French, and English, offering a wide range of services
The services the website offers include 100 PC solutions to support investors and facilitate procedures during all phases of their projects.
The CRI has also launched the Regional Observatory of Entrepreneurship and a number of studies to monitor businesses in the region.
The launches are a part of the region’s strategy for growing its economy more by 2030, by creating new industrial zones and accelerating economic activities for the period 2022-2030.
The Wali of the Fez-Meknes region Said Zniber, who headed the council, highlighted the center’s efforts in facilitating and attracting investments and adopting the state’s development policy.
Zniber also stressed the support, workshops, and services the center provided to investors last year, noting that it succeeded in establishing a participatory approach in the region to improve its business climate.
The regional committee held 7 meetings with 3,824 business developers in 2021 as a part of the region’s integrated support program, said Director-General of CRI Yassine Tazi.
The CRI financed 1,436 projects with a total investment of MAD 401 million ($41 million) in 2021.
In addition, the center launched the “Afwaj” program in March 2021 to support 500 business projects and signed an agreement to launch a program to support 150 women entrepreneurs.
