Rabat – Moroccan Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch will participate today in the celebration of Morocco’s National Day at Expo 2020 Dubai.
During his visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Akhannouch was hosted by Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Mohamed Bin Zayed al Nahyan.
At the meeting, which also marked the presence of Morocco’s Foreign Affairs Minister Nasser Bourita, Akhannouch conveyed King Mohammed VI’s greetings to Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyare, President of the UAE, as well as to Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Akhannouch extended the King’s best wishes to the Emirati royal family, noting Morocco’s readiness to further boost friendship and cooperation with the Emirati people.
In response, Nahyan also instructed Akhannouch to convey to King Mohammed VI his best regards, expressing his wishes for furthering dialogue and diplomatic relations with Morocco.
Both parties also discussed the “strong fraternal relations” between their two countries and means to boost cooperation in all fields, including investment and trade.
The 2020 Dubai Expo prepared a series of programs to celebrate Moroccan culture, including a live music event in the Wasl Plaza, the central hub for the expo.
The Expo’s celebration of Morocco’s National Day will also feature Moroccan iconic singer Asmaa El Mnawar.
Nasser Bourita and the Commissioner General of Morocco’s Pavilion Nadia Fettah Alaoui, who is also Moroccan Minister of Economy, will also attend the Morocco National Day.
The event will serve as an opportunity for participants to explore Morocco’s cultural and artistic scenery.
Also attending the event will be Sultan bin Ahmad Al Jaber, UAE Minister of Industry and Advances Technologies, along with Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed al-Maktoum, President of the Civil Aviation Authority of DUBAI, as well as the CEO of Emirates Airline.
The event will not only serve as a symposium for shining a light on Morocco’s culture, but it will also be a hub to showcase the attractiveness of the North African country as a go-to destination for investments in a wide range of fields, including trade, tourism, and technology.
Morocco’s pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai attracted thousands of visitors from across the world.
The pavilion celebrated the North African counter under the theme of “Legacies for the future, from inspiring origins to sustainable progress.”
