Rabat – Turkey announced a decision to tighten the rules for entering its territory on September 6.
According to the Turkish Embassy in Morocco, “new measures to enter the Turkish territory have changed since September 3. Passengers aged 12 and over traveling to Turkey will have to present their vaccination pass and other documents prior to departure.”
Moroccan passengers are asked to provide one of the following documents before departure, either a vaccination certificate issued by official authorities attesting that the traveler have been vaccinated at least 14 days before entry into turkey, a valid negative COVID-19 test issued in less than 72 hours, or a valid negative rapid antigen test of no more than 48 hours.
All passengers must complete the Turkish entry form, which is made available on the Turkish Ministry of Health website, within the last 72 hours before the flight departure time.
“Turkey applies the ordinary rules of the visa regime upon entry into the country,” said the Embassy.
Similarly, Morocco also ensures the implementation of similar measures since the country re-opened its air borders and resumed international flights in June 2021.
Travelers coming to Morocco must have a vaccination certificate and a negative PCR test prior to arrival.
Travelers coming from list B countries that do not have a valid vaccination certificate are still required to present a negative PCR test, and must undergo a 10-day hotel quarantine at their own expense upon arrival.
Canada has recently banned flights from Morocco amid the alarming increase of the number of COVID cases.
As of September 5, Morocco registered 3,043 new COVID-19 cases.
Despite the cases reaching the peak in August, Morocco’s national vaccination campaign is making notable progress to vaccinate 3 million students before the new academic year.
