Rabat – Morocco produced 5.5 billion eggs in 2017, generating MAD 6.5 billion in sales.

The Association of Producers of Consumer Eggs (ANPO) announced the figures on October 12, World Egg Day. Morocco’s production meets its consumption needs, with consumers eating 180 eggs annually per capita.

The association added that egg production has become more sophisticated in the last few years. It has received investments of MAD 3.5 billion which enabled the creation of 252 modern poultry farms in accordance with international standards.

The eggs sector has created 21,500 direct job opportunities and 31,000 indirect jobs through marketing and supply.
