Rabat – The aeronautic industry is very promising in Morocco despite being in an initial stage, the Moroccan Space and Aeronautical Industries Group (GIMAS) said.

In a document published during the Marrakech Air Show 2012, GIMAS said that Morocco managed to become a hub of the aeronautic and aerospace industry despite intense international competition.

The documents lists several leading aeronautics manufacturers that are investing in Morocco including Boeing, EADS, Aircelle and Creuzet.

The sector posted an output value of 5.683 million dirhams in 2010 compared to 4.924 in 2009, the same source said.

As for employment, aeronautic industry created around 8000 direct jobs, the GIMAS said, noting that this number is expected to rise to 10,000 in the current year.
