At the time when Israel is escalating its attacks on the Gaza Strip, amid the growing protests and condemnation from the world’s public opinion, the Israeli activist Ofer Bernstein will return again to Morocco, to give a lecture on Saturday 24 November at the National Library in Rabat.
The name of Ofer Bernstein came among the list of the speakers of the second edition of TEDxRABAT that will be held under the theme “Illumination”.
Bronstein will participate as President of the Association called “World Peace Forum”, along with many activists and politicians, including André Azoulay, advisor of Mohammed VI and Dr. Mohamed Faid, Doctor in Agricultural Sciences.
TED is a platform for sharing and exchanging international meeting of prominent speakers from different disciplines to present innovative concepts in 18 min.
The attendance of the Israeli activist to the Seventh National Congress of the Justice and Development Party this year caused uproar among Moroccans and brought embarrassment to the Islamist party when the Franco-Israeli was received by the Secretary General of the Party and the Prime Minister Abdelilah Benkirane along with Khaled Meshaal of Hamas.
Ever since, the PJD has came under harsh criticism from Moroccan media, which denounced any attempt of normalization of relations with the “Zionist entity”.
The indiscriminate Israeli attacks have pounded Gaza for a sixth successive day, hiking the death toll to 100, including children and women.
On Sunday alone 22 people were killed by the Israeli armed forces. Sunday was the deadliest day since the Jewish state launched it offensive attack last Wednesday. At least 33 people were massacred at the hands of the Israeli army. 12 people from the same family on Sunday morning. Among the fatalities were four children and five women, including one 80-year-old.
