Sidi Ifni- Google has become an integral part of any Internet user’s life and it is ranked as the most popular site across the globe, reported The daily Mail.
According to the map created by Oxford Internet Institute, Google has come to the fore in 62 countries in terms of people’s browsing history.
On the other hand, Facebook is the second most visited site globally, particularly in 52 countries according to the researchers at the Institute.
Dr. Mark Graham and Stefano De Sabbata relied on the estimated number of visitors in each country for their data.
The information collected by the website analytics firm, Alexa, has led the researchers to come up with The Most Visited Site per Country Map.
While search engines, such as Yahoo and Google, are the most visited sites globally, Facebook, social network website, has also gained much popularity, with millions of people visiting it on a daily basis.
Facebook is widely popular in the West, Dail Mail reported.
Geographical continuity plays a key role in the success of a website in the world.
‘The supremacy of Google and Facebook over any other site on the Web is clearly apparent. We also see an interesting geographical continuity of these two ’empires'”, according to researchers quoted by Dail Mail.
While the countries where Google is the most visited website represent half the entire Internet users, the countries where Facebook is the leading website, represent just 280 million users.
