Davos (Switzerland) – Director general of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Christine Lagarde hailed, on Friday, the economic reforms under way in Morocco which she described as a model to follow in the region.
Reform efforts by the Kingdom are commendable and made the country a model to follow for the region’s countries, said Lagarde during a meeting with head of government Abdelilah Benkirane on the sidelines of the 44th Davos World Economic Forum (January 22-25).
She also highlighted the anticipation capacity of Morocco in a difficult juncture without waiting for recommendations by international financial bodies.
Morocco is represented at the annual Davos forum by Benkirane who is leading a delegation composed of the Minister of Finances Mohamed Boussaid, the Minister delegate for the Environment Hakima El Haite and the Minister delegate for Foreign Affairs and cooperation Mbarka Bouaida.
