ANKARA- The long-debated tournament will most probably take place between Nov. 15 – Jan. 15, according to FIFA official.
The 2022 World Cup in Qatar will not be played in summer according to FIFA Secretary-General Franck Valcke.
Speaking to a radio channel in France, “The dates for the World Cup (in Qatar) will not be June-July,” Valcke said and added, “To be honest, I think it will be held between 15 November and 15 January at the latest”.
The official of the international football’s governing body told Radio France “If you play between November 15 and the end of December that’s the time when the weather conditions are best, when you can play in temperatures equivalent to a warm spring season in Europe, averaging 25 degrees, that would be perfect for playing football.”
The schedule of World Cup 2022 has been criticised because of Qatar’s hot and heated summer when the tournament is traditionally held
