Rabat – Morocco and Chad gave a strong momentum to their bilateral relations of cooperation after concluding Friday in Rabat several cooperation agreements covering various economic and social areas.
Signed during a ceremony co-chaired by Morocco’s Head of Government Abdelilah Benkirane and Chadian Prime Minister Kalzeubé Payimi Deubet, these agreements aim to make the most of the excellent relations between Morocco and Chad as evidenced by the ambitions of the two countries’ Heads of state, HM King Mohammed VI and Chadian President Idriss Deby.
On this occasion, a protocol for industrial cooperation, a cooperation agreement in the field of higher education and scientific research, a cooperation agreement in education and training and a cooperation agreement in the field of employment were signed.
The two parties also inked two framework agreements in the areas of housing and urban policies and spatial planning, as well as several memorandums of understanding aimed at promoting foreign trade and cooperation between aeronautical authorities of both countries.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Morocco’s Premier Benkirane said the peoples of the two countries share common human, cultural and religious values, noting that this meeting is an opportunity to give a new momentum to Moroccan-Chadian relations of cooperation.
For his part, Deubet who is on a 3-day working visit to the Kingdom, said Chad follows with great interest and admiration the progress made in Morocco under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, noting that his country wishes to benefit from the Moroccan experience.
