Rabat – A California Muslim woman has hit back at Donald Trump’s plans to force American Muslims to register on a national data base, in a letter posted on Facebook. The post has gone viral.

Marwa Balkar, 22, posted the letter on her Facebook account last week, along with a picture of herself wearing a peace sign on her shirt.

‘I heard you wanted us to start wearing ID badges, so I decided to choose one for myself,’ she began in the post.

‘I am not easily identifiable as a Muslim just by looking at me, so my new badge will let me display proudly who I am. I chose the peace sign because it represents my Islam.’

‘The one that taught me to oppose injustice and yearn for unity. The one that taught me that killing one innocent life is equivalent to killing humanity.’

The 22-year-old girl went on to invite Trump to spend the day with her since he plans to ‘track’ Muslims.

“I heard you want to track us as well. Great! You can come with me on my Cancer Awareness walks at the local middle school… You can also see how my local mosque makes PB&J [Peanut Butter and Jam] sandwiches for the homeless and hosts interfaith dinners where everyone is welcome,” she wrote.

“Maybe then you’ll see that me being Muslim doesn’t make me any less American than you are. Maybe if you walk in my footsteps, you can see that I am not any less human than you are,” Marwa concluded.

Marwa’s post has gone viral on Facebook. It has so far been shared over 158,884 times and  amassed almost 600,000 ‘likes’, including one from the CEO of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg.

Marwa told ABC 7 that she wrote the post because she felt she needed to stop Trump from ruining ‘people’s perspectives’ on who Muslim Americans are.
