Rabat – A video was uploaded on YouTube last Saturday showing a woman in Egypt forced to get out of a swimming pool due to her swimsuit.

After the growing controversy in France to ban women from covering themselves and promote wearing burkini on beaches, Nadine Abdulaziz was offended by the manager at a swimming pool in Ras Sudr, in Egypt.

The video shows Abdulaziz refusing to leave the pool and comply with the orders of the manager, who asks a number of workers to take off their clothes and go into the water to abuse her. Then, after Abulaziz remained in the pool, the manager poured chlorine into the water to force her get out.

The video shows a woman advising Abdulaziz to get out of the pool in order not to be harmed by the chlorine, but Abdulaziz responded, ” I am not afraid, he [the manager] can do whatever he likes.”

According to the Egyptian news outlet, Bawwabat Al’ahram, Abdulaziz filed a lawsuit against the manager after the incident.

This incident happens to coincide with the boisterous uproar in France concerning the burkini. Ironically, both women in France and in Egypt are being ridiculed for covering and revealing themselves, respectively, while they swim.

Last week, pictures emerged on social media networks showing French police forcing a Muslim woman to remove her swimwear on the beach, which sparked outrage among Muslims.

In response, the Council of State, France’s highest court, suspended the burkini ban, saying that local mayors have no legal basis to justify the ban on full-body swimwear.
