Casablanca – Moroccan plastic surgeon will take charge of the surgery of an 11-year old girl described as “the most obese child in the world.”
Moroccan media reported about a Moroccan child who suffers from a rare genetic condition called Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS).
Aya, who weighs 200 kg, has left school due to the harassment she suffers, and now spends all her time at home.
The report has attracted over 300.00 viewers who sympathized with her condition. The news reached a renowned Moroccan plastic surgeon that wrote a post on his Facebook fan page asking his fans about Aya’s contacts details:
“Dear friends, thank you for asking me to help little Aya. Kindly give me her contact details if anyone has them. Guess Clinic and I are ready to take all necessary charges until she regains a normal life,” says the Facebook post.
Two hours later, Dr. Mohamed Guessous received Aya’s contact details from a fan and wrote another post heralding the news that Aya will benefit from surgery at no cost:
“Thank you Hind Rhouam, who gave me the number of Aya’s dad who lives in Casablanca. I met Aya’s dad. He has accepted my proposal for comprehensive care. I have already contacted my physician and surgeon friends. They are luminaries in their profession and they all agreed to help Aya.”
Dr. Guessous continued in the same post that a multidisciplinary crew of surgeons would be formed so that each surgeon offers his knowledge and expertise to help Aya resume her normal life.
