Rabat – The appeal to suspend the closing order of the Al Fatih schools was rejected by the Administrative Court of Casablanca.
Early this January, the Ministry of Interior issued an order of closing against the Mohamed Al-Fatih Group’s schools, related to the infamous Turkish preacher, Fathullah Gulen.
These schools were accused of spreading Gulen’s religious ideologies, which are against Moroccan principals and those of the educational religious system.
Following this decision, the schools’ administration and some parents of the students filed a suit against the Ministry of Interior’s order, demanding its suspension.
The Administrative Court of Casablanca, however, refused their appeal and declined their request on Tuesday.
The student’s parents were not happy with the court’s verdict, but are still waiting for the court’s decision regarding another appeal for a complete cancelation of the Ministry’s order. The hearing is scheduled forFebruary 23.
