Rabat – Ed Sheeran’s chart-buster single “Shape of You” is going viral in so many ways. It is said that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. What of the parody? YouTube Channel Big Shift is finding out with their latest video parody of the popular song.

Moroccan YouTube Channel Big Shift took the song to yet another dimension of popularity, adding a Moroccan flair and a “hand-made” character to it. The lyrics “I’m in love with your body” become “Amine, noud jib lina chi banyou” (Amine, get up and bring us a bowl).

Premiered on April 2 on YouTube’s Big Shift channel, the parody is hilarious in every sense of the word. The humorous take was created by Wadie Aamdi, Dr. Black and Abdellah Zarouk.

Dressed in nightgowns, doctor’s robes and djellabas, these YouTubers completely change the song’s lyrics and meaning, Instead of speaking about club culture, love and dance, as in the original song, this parody takes on a very different but equally passionate topic in Morocco; food, and it does so in a heady celebration of chicken, rfissa and tuna.

“Shape of You” is not the first parody presented on the channel. Singer Wadie Aamdi has already created the Moroccan version of “One Dance” by Drake. There was also the parody of “Sorry” by Justin Bieber and many others.

At the end of each video they produce, the creative YouTubers invite their followers to propose song titles for future parodies. So, go ahead and make your pick! Humor is guaranteed.
