Rabat – The 2nd edition of AITEX, Africa IT Expo, dedicated to information technology, will take place on September 27-29, at the Office of Fairs and Exhibitions in Casablanca. The event is organized by APEBI, the Moroccan Federation of Information Technology, Telecommunications and Offshoring.

This second edition, titled “Digital innovation at the service of organizations,” will host Cameroon and Nigeria as guests of honor. During the three-day exposition, 10,000 visitors, 200 exhibitors and 40 experts from Africa, Europe and the Middle East will exchange views in a varied program, elaborated by various aspects of the digital revolution.

AITEX is an international event bringing together key players in the IT sector; decision-makers, professionals, contractors and the media. The main objectives of this exposition are to provide clients with a global platform for IT services and products in Africa, as well as promote and foster the development of the sector and its innovative solutions on the continental level.

The event will offer its participants an exposition on innovative solutions to bring together Moroccan and international companies, associations and institutions from the IT sector. Africa IT Expo also proposes a networking platform for B2B meetings to promote South/South and North/South partnerships and provides a workshop space to allow companies to present their solutions.

The program of the exposition also includes conferences, debates, exchanges, utilizing state-of-the-art, best practices to present the developments and solutions of the IT sector.

“We invite all professionals in the TIC sector to join AITEX, so that together we make of this event a regional area of reference of this field,” enthused Saloua Karkri, President of APEBI.

In order to mobilize the entire digital ecosystem in Morocco, the AITEX exhibition benefits from the commitment of several public bodies and professional associations, in addition to the APEBI. These include Maroc Export, the Directors of Information Systems Association (AUSIM), Technopark of Casablanca, Maroc PME and CGEM.

“In Africa, as elsewhere, the goal is to provide solutions based on the latest technologies and trends. Technological innovation requires a certain synergy between all actors, whether institutional or private,” added Karkri.

Digital revolution requires all organizations to review their governance, or even their model business, at the dawn of these transformations which shape both the businesses of tomorrow and the behavior of the citizen-consumer who is the leading player in this digital revolution.

“With AITEX 2017, our federation continues its commitment to promoting the TIC sector despite our disappointment with the El Othmani government that has not integrated the digital sector in its bloated government, while the new French president, despite his tight government, made sure to provide a secretariat of State in charge of digital,” stated Saloua Karkri.

Meanwhile, the APEBI is closely following the project in consideration of the future of the digital development agency, currently under discussion in Parliament. “Our ambition is for this agency to be attached to the head of government and endowed with financial and human resources to enable it to play a leverage role in promoting the digital economy,” adds Karkri.

Digitization creates structuring transformations. It is a major economic challenge for any organization wishing to boost its performance and competitiveness on both a national and regional level. The potential in terms of job creation is considerable for the sector to connect companies to these tools which are in a perpetual state of innovation.

With its Morocco Digital 2020 Plan, the Kingdom is strongly collaborating with the digital future of the continent. The plan is focused on accelerating the digital transformation and strengthening Morocco’s position as an African precursor in the service of partner countries. The road map, therefore, marks a digital revolution offering companies several opportunities for development around structuring projects.
