Rabat – After Paris, London, Doha, and Baku, the 21st season of the Oriental Fashion Show will be held in Marrakech on Sept. 22 and 23 at the Royal Mansour Hotel.
A dozen national and international designers will meet for two days in the ocher city to pay tribute to the cultural richness of Morocco and highlight the beauty of Eastern fashion.
For this year’s event, the organizers aim to safeguard Moroccan and “oriental” clothing traditions while showcasing them to the rest of the world. The event is intended toencouragethe re-discovery of craft professions and highlight traditional skills at risk of dying out.
According to the organizers, the Oriental Fashion Show will not only provide the latest fashion trends and designs, but also it seeks to “spread the diverse oriental heritage in a place characterized by its unique location that combines culture and luxury.”
Seduced by its light and fascinated by its colors, the show will host many icons of the world of fashion from Morocco, Algeria, Pakistan, Russia, and many other countries to present their latest collections.
Big names in the world of fashion design, including Lamia Lakhssassi, Mahe-Mi, Albert Ouaknine, SafaaIbrahimi, Raishma, Menouba, and other haute couture names in Maghreb, Asia and the Middle East, will showcase their latest designs.
The event, blending between culture, fashion, and luxury, will also take advantage of the recent inauguration of the Yves Saint Laurent Museum in Marrakech to pay tribute to Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé, who were moved by the beauty of the city and spent a great deal of their lives their.
