Rabat – A government council meeting will be held on Tuesday in order to discuss and adopt the 2018 Finance bill, which has to be presented in the Moroccan parliament by October 20.

The meeting will be chaired by Head of Government Saad Eddine El Othmani.

Three other draft decrees will be discussed, regarding the delegation of powers to the Minister of the Economy and Finance on domestic borrowing, the use of financial instruments in the field of external financing,  and the conclusion of contracts of borrowings for the repayment of expensive external debt, the interest rate, and currency exchange agreements.

Morocco’s 2017 Finance Bill was enacted in June after former Head of Government Abdelilah Benkirane failed to form a government for six months and was replaced by Saad Eddine El Othmani by order of King Mohammed VI.

The 2017 bill included many reforms, including those aiming to boost investments.
