Rabat – After making its 2017 security strategy public, the General Directorate for National Security (DGSN) is sharing its promotion list for the 2017 budget year.
A statement issued on Wednesday, December 27 by the DGSN revealed that around 8,644 police officers from different corps and grades have been promoted during 2017. The promotion includes 6,292 civil servants in uniform and 2,31 plainclothes officers as well as 40 senior and inter-ministerial officials working for f the national security services.
DGSN’s promotion committee has adopted “well defined standards and criteria aimed at broadening the range of beneficiaries in the ranks and lower grades, based on performance and professional competence, taking into account administrative incentive and institutional ethics,” according to the statement.
5,756 officials with ranks lower than a uniformed peace officer benefited from the promotion. 1,499 officials with ranks lower than that of police officer in plain-cloths have also benefited from the promotion offers.
The results of this year’s performance reached record rate and indicators compared to previous years, said the DGSN. The statement revealed that 7,469 civil servants had benefited from promotion in 2015, representing 41 percent of total officials.
In 2016, the security officials who benefited from promotions were estimated at 6,067, according to the statement.
The same statement has been marked by an increase in budget shares dedicated to this operation, adding that this has had a positive impact and has broadened the base of beneficiaries of all grades, especially for lower grades officers.
These operations are in line with the deadlines set by the DGSN and the support for administrative incentives granted to police officers. The promoted officials are also set to fulfill their missions and duties to guarantee a security environment for citizens and the preservation of their property.
