Rabat – Juventus superstar Mehdi Benatia netted a beautiful winning goal against his former team, A.S Roma.

Following a corner from Miralem Pjanic, Morocco’s Benatia took his chance to score against the opponent. After a failed attempt, the player did not miss his opportunity to stun his former club with a surprising kick to score the solo winning goal in the first half of the game.

Bentaia has been delivering great performances with his Italian team. Earlier this month, the Old Lady (Juventus) named the Moroccan defender as its player of the month of November. The title recognizes Benatia’s great determination and performances with his Italian team in their most decisive games, including those against Spanish opponent FC Barcelona.

The 30-year old international, who is also Morocco’s national football team captain, did his utmost to help Moroccan during 2018 World Cup Qualifiers. The footballer netted a great goal against Cote d’Ivoir on November 11. The game finished with 2-0 win for the Atlas Lions, who thus secured a place for the 2018 World Cup second round that will take place in Russia next summer.

The defender said, after November 11’s game, which made the Word Cup dream to become tru after 20 years of absence, that the team done everything to make Moroccan fans proud under any circumstances. The footballer showed confident that the team will reach more achievements during the second round of the tournament.

For Benatia, leading Morocco to the World Cup is “the most beautiful moment of my career.”

“Every morning I get up and think about it and I’m happy because we didn’t really get to celebrate, but in six months there will be an incredible party in Morocco because it’s a country that lives for football,” the Moroccan footballer told Sky Italia.

The footballer has already clinched titles with his former team Bayern Munich and current team Juventus.
