Rabat – Recent asset declarations showed that Nicolas Hulot, the French minister of Ecological Transition, was far from leading by example, as he owns a total of nine motor vehicles.
The French High Authority For Transparency in Public Life published the asset declaration of the government officials.
Nicolas Hulot attracted criticism with his vehicle collection. He owns a total of nine vehicles, including a boat, two motorcycle,s and a Land Rover. The total worth of the French minister’s collection is EUR 105,000.

In a statement given to Journal Du Dimanche, Hulot deemed the reactions as “absurd,” adding that he rides his electric scooter “95 percent of the time,” along with the ministry’s official vehicles. His statements did not answer why he owned the comprehensive collection despite having access to the ministry’s service vehicles.
Hulot is among the richest French ministers in President Emmanuel Macron’s government, with nearly fortune of nearly EUR 7.2 million, along with ministers Muriel Pénicaud and Françoise Nyssen.
