In a statement given to Journal Du Dimanche, Hulot deemed the reactions as “absurd,” adding that he rides his electric scooter “95 percent of the time,” along with the ministry’s official vehicles. His statements did not answer why he owned the comprehensive collection despite having access to the ministry’s service vehicles.

Hulot is among the richest French ministers in President Emmanuel Macron’s government, with nearly fortune of nearly EUR 7.2 million, along with ministers Muriel Pénicaud and Françoise Nyssen.
