Rabat – The First Instance court in Settat has sentenced Youtuber Mohammed Settat Sekkaki, known on social media as Moul Kaskita, to four years in prison.

The trial took place on December 26.

Moul Kaskita will also pay a fine of MAD 40,000.

The court prosecuted the YouTuber for drug possession, attacking constitutional institutions, as well as insulting Moroccans and public institutions.

The Youtuber posted a video online, in which he said, “Moroccan people are stupid and uneducated. Moroccans only care about buttocks. Moroccans do not know how to vote because they are ignorant.”

Police arrested the YouTuber on November 30.

In the 12-minute video, Sekaki also criticized the government and King Mohammed VI.

He accused members of the government of corruption. He also spoke disparagingly about the King and his speeches, saying they are “useless.”

At the end of the video, Moul Kaskita claimed that he is not afraid of being arrested as he is “telling facts.”

The arrest is not the first time Moul Kaskita has ended up behind bars.

In January 2017, the YouTuber faced charges of scamming and “sextortion” and spent several months in prison. A few weeks after getting out of prison, in October 2018, police arrested the YouTuber again on charges including organizing an unauthorized demonstration, incitement to commit a misdemeanor, and insulting officials on duty.
