Rabat – At the 50th Vakantiebeurs Tourism Fair in Utrecht, Netherlands, Morocco’s National Tourism Office (ONMT) consolidated the North African country’s reputation as an attractive destination for European travelers.

The Vakantiebeurs Tourism Fair took place from January 16 to 19. The annual leisure and tourism event invites travel agencies and cultural associations from around the world to present their countries and market their traveling agencies to visitors, who can discover exciting destinations and establish contacts with travel agencies.

With a stand dressed in national colors and amassing 80 square meters, Morocco highlighted its Beni Mellal, Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima, and Oriental regions. The Moroccan exhibition at the fair included presentations on the culture and heritage of the kingdom.

Morocco’s national carrier, Royal Air Maroc, also participated in the exhibition.

Morocco’s participation in the event aims to promote the country as a destination for Dutch tourists. The North African kingdom is a well-established hotspot for European tourists, and the Dutch are no exception.

According to ONMT, the number of Dutch tourists visiting Morocco rose by 6% by the end of August 2019 compared to the same period in 2018.
