Rabat – The Moroccan National Office of Tourism (ONMT) announced a new television program on Wednesday entitled “Zour Bladek” (“visit your country”), in an effort to encourage Moroccans to travel to different cities in the country.

The program began broadcasting on Saturday, July 10th on the national TV channel 2M, with the subject of the episode being the Agafay desert.

The program, hosted by Najlae Bellouri, encourages Moroccans to explore the country, highlighting tourist destinations and highlighting some of the activities to engage in if they go there.

“Zour Bladek” will be aired in two segments. “Zour Bladek Magazine” will be a 26-minute bi-weekly broadcast that airs on Saturdays at 7:40 PM, being a relatively in-depth exploration into a specific destination, presenting its nature, resources, and other aspects.

The program will also include a “Zour Bladek Weekend” segment, a short 4-minute segment that will air every Saturday and Sunday, which will feature “the best destinations for a fun weekend trip”, with affordable and nearby destinations.

The program aims to help revive tourism in destinations that are often overshadowed by more popular spots.

The broadcast is part of the ONMT’s ongoing “Ntla9awfbladna” (“let’s meet in our country”) campaign, which encourages a stronger sense of belonging for Moroccans to their home country, and encourages them to explore the country more.

Domestic tourism is the country’s most important kind, according to a recent study by the ONMT. In 2019, 31% of hospitality revenues, or a total of 7.8 million overnight stays, came from domestic tourists.
