Rabat – The Moroccan Royal Football Federation (FRMF) held a virtual meeting today, September 22, which focused on the possible return of fans to Moroccan stadiums.
On this occasion, the president of the FRMF, Fouzi Lekjaa, announced that supporters will gradually return to stadiums within the next few days.
The federation may consider requiring fans to show a valid vaccination pass upon entry, but the decision is subject to approval by the competent authorities, said the FRMF in a statement.
Lekjaa called on all Moroccan club presidents and officials to take all the necessary preventive measures against COVID-19, in order to ensure a successful return to stadiums.
Fans had been banned from attending matches in stadiums since the outbreak of the pandemic in 2020.
The Technical and Administrative Commission has developed a draft trial program, which will be implemented this year, according to the same source.
The vaccination pass has been made compulsory for footballers over the age of 18 from August onward.
The FRMF had indicated that its Steering Committee had approved the requirement for players age 18 or older to produce a vaccination pass that demonstrates they had the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while waiting for their second dose.
This condition has become mandatory since August, as a requirement for participation in national competitions.
In addition, the steering committee decided, in coordination with the National League of Professional Football (LNFP), to adopt the obligation to have licenses for the matches of Botola Pro 1 and Botola Pro 2 from the 3rd day.
