Denver- Professionals in Morocco’s dentistry field traveled to Hungary this week to participate in an international gathering to advance their scientific expertise.
30 members of the Moroccan Association of Implantology and Aesthetics (AMIED) attended the symposium, which was held from September 14-16. In cooperation with the Urban Institute for Regeneration, the Moroccan delegation participated in the event to immerse themselves in the latest practices within the field of Implantology and dental regeneration techniques.
AMIED is a Moroccan organization dedicated to providing high-quality dental training to hundreds of dental practitioners in Morocco and other African nations through scientific conferences.
The focus of this conference, Implantology, is a field of dentistry focused on the implantation of artificial teeth in the jaw. Implantation is often used to support prosthetic dental inserts like dentures. During the gathering, Hungarian osteologist and founder of the Urban Institute Istvan Urban gave a lecture on human skeletal structure as part of the conference.
Morocco’s embassy in Hungary described the conference as a “first step” in strengthening relations between the AMIED and the Urban Institute for Regeneration in a press statement after the event.
After the success of this week’s meeting, the two associations have already announced their intentions to host a second conference in February of next year.
AMIED members also had the opportunity to meet with Morocco’s ambassador to Hungary, Karima Kabbaj, to discuss the quality of relations with Hungary and avenues of cooperation in the medical and scientific fields.
The latest organization corresponds to earlier agreements between the two nations to expand on medical and scientific exchanges. These include the establishment of a bilateral scholarship program agreement from 2020-2022, nuclear energy education agreements, and a 2019 agreement to cycle “regular academic meetings” between both Moroccan and Hungarian universities.
