Rabat – Morocco has launched an in-depth investigation after security services identified a suspicious bag near Lycee Descartes, a prestigious high school in Rabat.
The French school alerted security services after the discovery of the bag, and police rushed to the education institution to investigate the case.
After preliminary investigations, police found out that the bag consisted of bottles of alcohol connected with a wire to make the suspicious material look like an explosive device.
In a statement, the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) said that the seized bag does not “pose any threat to the security of people and safety of property.”
It explained that the seized material included two empty bottles of alcoholic beverages that were wrapped with tape to create a false alarm.
DGSN described the act as ”reckless behavior” and vowed that an in-depth investigation is underway to identify people involved in the act and throw light on their motives.
