Rabat – Morocco’s Ministry of Health announced today that the number of fully vaccinated people in the country has reached 22,575,849.
The number of people who received the first dose of COVID is now 24,396,364, while people who received the third dose reached 1,618,451.
Morocco recorded 157 new COVID cases in the past 24 hours, bringing to 949,133 the country’s total case count since it first detected the virus in March of last year.
Morocco also recorded two new deaths in the last 24 hours, meaning the country’s number of COVID related fatalities is now 14,766. Total number of recoveries reached 931,298 after 155 new people were declared free of the virus in the past 24 hours.
The Casablanca-Settat region recorded the majority of COVID cases in the past 24 hours (100 cases).
The other cases are distributed among Rabat-Sale Kenitra (35 cases, 1 death), Fez Meknes (7), Marrakech Safi (5), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (3), the Oriental (2), Draa Tafilalet (2 cases, 1 death), Beni Mellal Khenifra (1), Dakhla Oued Eddahab (1).
There are currently 3,069 active COVID cases in Morocco, with seven in critical conditions.
The ministry announced a noted decrease in the number of infections, saying that this drop eached 16% over the past week.
