Rabat- Morocco’s Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) announced Thursday a new partnership with Reichman University in Israel, intending to strengthen academic cooperation.
The partnership will revolve around research, development, and innovation across many areas of collaboration.
“We are delighted to announce that our faculty has signed a new partnership with Reichman University in Israel,” said UM6P in a statement on its official website.
Reichman University is Israel’s first privately funded not-for-profit fully accredited university.
The Israeli university offers full-degree programs in English in Business, Economics, Computer Science, Communications, Government, Sustainability, Psychology, and Entrepreneurship, at BA, MA, and Ph.D. levels.
This agreement is the third collaboration between an Israeli university and a Moroccan academic institution. In September, Ben-Gurion University of the Nege (BGU) and UM6P signed an agreement to allow scientific and technical experts from the two universities to collaborate on sustainability initiatives.
During the same month, The Israeli University and the Rabat International University (UIR) in Morocco signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on education and research, especially on the study of the cultural heritage of Moroccan Jews.

Additionally, in August, BGU announced “joining forces [with the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P)] for future collaboration on sustainability.”
Since re-establishing their diplomatic ties in December of last year, Morocco and Israel have made considerable development in cementing their newly “normalized” relationship.
On December 22, Morocco participated in a celebratory online event commemorating the first anniversary of the joint declaration uniting the Moroccan, Israeli government, and US under an agreement as part of the US-brokered Abraham Accords.
The tripartite declaration presents the US-Morocco-Israel partnership to other countries and regions as a model of constructive diplomacy and reliable partnership.
