Fez – Morocco’s PortNet’s Board of Directors has recently appointed Youssef Ahouzi as Chief Executive Manager (CEO). The company is Morocco’s National Single Window for facilitating all of the country’s foreign trade procedures.
Ahouzi joined PortNet S.A. in 2015 as director of information systems. In 2017 he was promoted to serve as the company’s acting general manager, a position he occupied before being designated as general manager.
With a Master’s Degree in Computer Software Engineering from the Mohammadia School of Engineers (EMI) in 2004, Ahouzi started his career with STMicroelectronics in Rabat. Four months later, he joined Barid Al-Maghrib as a project manager.
After spending two years at Barid Al-Maghrib, Ahouzi joined the french group BNP Paribas, spending 7 years as a team leader managing the Retail and Corporate Project. At BNP Paribas, he gained solid expertise in the field of banking systems.
In 2014, Ahouzi got his second master’s degree in Business Administration and Management from the Ecole des Ponts Business School, in Paris.
PortNet’s newly appointed CEO collaborated with different operators in the public and private sectors to set up and implement several strategic projects, allowing for a speedy process of digitization. Ahouzi’s collaborations also helped simplify port procedures and foreign trade of Morocco via the PortNet Single Window.
He is involved in several technology programs and cybersecurity. He is the Vice President of the African Alliance for Electronic Commerce. PortNet’s CEO contributes to several international projects and programs as an expert in e-Gov and digital transformation, as well as in the implementation of single windows and community systems.
In October, Global CIO Forum Committee nominated Ahouzi as a transformative technology leader for his merits and achievements in driving organizational excellence.
