Rabat – Morocco’s Othman El Ferdaous, former minister of culture, youth, and sports, is now the vice president of growth at ABA Technology, a Moroccan tech company operating in the Internet of Things (IoT).

As part of his new position with ABA Technology, El Ferdaous will work to expand the company’s strategic partnerships. The former minister will also oversee the implementation of the company’s growth strategies.

Before serving in the cabinet between 2020 and 2021, the former minister held the position of managing partner at Europa Conseil, a media and consulting company.

El Ferdaous’ career as a government official started in 2017 when he held the position of secretary of state for investment, an advisory position to the then minister of industry, trade, and digital economy, Moulay Hafid Elalamy.

Starting his career in 2003 as a senior consultant at PwC, a global accounting group, El Fardaous landed his second senior position as a director at Mena Media Consulting, a Moroccan public relations firm.

His impressive career in both politics and the private sector is coupled with an equally impressive academic career. El Ferdaous holds a master’s degree in finance from the benchmark French school Audencia.

He also holds a second Executive masters’ degree in Advanced European Studies from France’s National Administrative Affairs School (ENA), and a journalism degree from France’s Sciences Po university, a leading university in social sciences.
