Fez – The French Embassy in Rabat announced that a special ferry has been scheduled from Tangier Med to Marseille on February 2.
The ferry will repatriate French people stranded in Morocco, as well as allow other European citizens and permanent residents in France to return home.
The French embassy tweeted that the passengers eligible for the ferry are French and European citizens who own vehicles registered in Europe.
The French Embassy in Morocco requested that potential travelers fill out a form for each vehicle and individual. They can only board the special ferry if they have proper registration.
The embassy said that passengers who registered for the two special ferries that took place in January 2022, but were not able to benefit, must re-register.

The tariffs charged for the ferry are set exclusively by the shipping companies as French authorities are in no way responsible for the commercial policy and tariffs of private companies, explained the embassy.
Initially, the Moroccan government planned to lift the travel ban by the end of 2021, but the suspension of air travel was extended to January 31, 2022. The decision came as a preventive measure to curb the spread of the COVID-19 variant, and its new variants, including Omicron.
Some Moroccan public health specialists, including Doctor Tayeb Hamdi, think that Morocco’s borders should be reopened under specific circumstances.
Hamdi claimed in a Facebook post that permitting fully vaccinated passengers with a negative PCR certificate to enter Moroccan territory is “less risky epidemiologically” than the behavior of persons [Moroccans staying in Morocco] who do not follow preventive measures.”
