Fez – Another day, another achievement for Morocco’s international Achraf Hakimi. FIFA Global Transfer Report has selected the Paris Saint-Germain star among the top transfers of 2021.
The report published on January 14 ranked Hakimi in the third position of last year’s most valuable transfers, after his record-breaking transfer from Serie A’s Inter Milan to French giants PSG.
Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku and England winger Jadon Sancho managed to feature ahead of the 23-year-old right-back.
Lukaku’s transfer from Inter Milan to Chelsea cost the London team about $138 million. Sancho’s transfer from Borussia Dortmund to Manchester United cost the Red Devils about $100 million.
Meanwhile, the 23-year-old talented Moroccan player signed a record-breaking contract this summer with the French giants Paris Saint-Germain.
The deal will pay the Series A side up to €70 million, including bonuses, for the former Real Madrid academy player.
Hakimi enjoyed phenomenal seasons in the previous couple of years, collecting both individual and collective awards.

Earlier this year, the International Center for Sports Studies (CIES) ranked the Moroccan right-back among its list of the 100 most expensive players in terms of his estimated transfer value.
Hakimi featured in the 15th position, outperforming other renowned players, such as his teammate Kylian Mbappe, Liverpool’s star Mohamed Salah, and the five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo.
On December 7, 2021, the International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS) listed Hakimi among the 11 best footballers of 2021.
A few days prior to this nomination, ESPN selected him as the best right-back in the world, outperforming other renowned players in his position, such as England international and Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Hakimi has been displaying outstanding performances with both PSG and Morocco’s Atlas Lions, making headlines around the world.
The Moroccan player is currently participating with the Atlas Lions in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), where the team aspires to reach the farthest point in the current edition and seal the long-awaited title.
