Join on Telegram Rabat – FIFA are looking to organize the first-ever football match between Morocco’s and Israel’s national women teams.
FIFA’s comments came after former Israeli football player Sylvie Jean suggested the teams should go head-to-head, Israel’s Sport5 newspaper reported on Tuesday, in a sign that diplomatic relations between the countries are continuing to improve.
“We would be happy to organize a match during the next national team break, between the men’s or women’s team, with the Ivory Coast team, or preferably Morocco, given the two countries’ diplomatic relations,” FIFA told Jean in a letter on Tuesday.
“Our initial goal is to organize the first women’s national team game between our two great countries,” Jean said.
Morocco and Israel have been working together more often, continuing to improve diplomatic relations.

The countries have cooperated in sectors including finance, culture, politics, and military.
The two countries attended the Negev Summit on March 27, in addition to signing an agreement to boost trade between the states in February.
Morocco formally recognized Israel during the Abrahamic Accords on September 14, 2020, allowing for the two to develop their relationship.
